While President Obama's newly unveiled deficit-reduction plan has drawn much attention -- and criticism -- for targeting the wealthiest Americans with new taxes, it also aims to overhaul the retirement benefits for U.S. military members.

Don't readily believe what you hear or read from "FOX (FAUX) News". They put a serious republican spin on "all" their so-called "news" reports which are biased in every way. Anything coming from them should be met with skepticism and should be examined very closely and crossed checked as they have been proven to disseminate false or mis-leading information.

Oh, mrhandyman...if only you knew.

Since you're new though, I'll warn you - you'll see a lot of Fox news here and you'll see a lot of Faux news bashing. Comes with the territory. Welcome to the site.

Not just FOX news, but everything should be purused,
and then interpreted logically. After all, one would assume
that we are all intelligent and have enough common sense
to not[/not] accept much of/any of or all of what we read or hear --- at face value.

And?
"Just weeks after the Pentagon proposed scrapping the military's traditional pension program, Obama released a plan Monday that calls for reexamining the retirement system that "provides generous benefits to the relatively few members who stay at least 20 years and no benefits for the roughly 80 percent of servicemembers who stay less than 20 years."

Seems like more money would be saved if more states would implement drug testing while on government assistance.

The DoD spends more on retiree benefits than they do on all their active employees combined. You don't think that's a problem?
