A study by the think-tank the New Economics Foundation found that the average bankers destroys £42 million a year in value while creating just £5 million.
Meanwhile hospital cleaners on £6.26 an hour are worth £10 for every £1 they cost because they prevent superbugs, saving the economy a fortune
One for the next edition of Freakeconomics I think.
Wealthy bankers always claim they are worth their vast bonuses due to their contribution of the economy but really they are the only laughing all the way to the bank!
But whilst bankers cost £8.40 for every £1 created at least they are not as bad at tax accountants. They help the rich cut their tax bill costing the rest of us £47 for ever £1 they create.
But the upside is that a Nursery worker creates £9.43 for ever £1 they cost, as they enable parents to continue working and benefit the economy.
